First
World War Veterans Last Reunion Celebration

Conrad's
piano playing, Smiler's mental gymnastics (no one could recite the alphabet
backwards faster than Smiler!) and other veterans' moving testimonies,
spirited singing and great sense of humour made for a most memorable day.
Among the many highlights of the day were:
- The launch
of the Streets Ahead project by Steve Goodwin.
- Isla
St. Clair's spine-chilling version of the Scottish song from the
First World War, The Flowers of the Forest.
- Ben Walsh's
inspirational talk on how to connect young people to history.
- Paul
McGann (the Monocled Mutineer and a former Doctor Who) excitedly collecting
the veterans autographs!
- Robb
Johnson's songs from Gentle
Men.
- The handing
over of the veterans' legacy to the school children present.

a great event.
